Memphis Faith Based Community Reaches Out To Help Flint, MI
Memphis churches do their part to help out Flint, MI
Memphis, TN: In light of the Flint, Michigan water crisis, Greater White Stone Missionary Baptist Church,Young Adult Ministry, has organized a water drive to aid residents of Flint, MI. We are partnering with other churches and organizations throughout Memphis and the Mid-South in an effort to load to capacity a 52-foot-trailer with bottled water, and we need your support.
“As Christians, we believe that we are our brothers’ keeper and that we have a responsibility to assist those who are in need of help” says Pastor Roger Brown.
Every American has a right to clean water. However, the people of Flint have lost this right through no fault of their own. While others struggle to solve this crisis, the Flint residents are standing in need our help—now! Any donations of bottled water will be greatly appreciated. Donations may be dropped off at Greater White Stone Missionary Baptist Church, 917 South Wellington Street, Memphis, TN 38126 or you may call the church office 901-774-3564 to schedule pick up of the water.
Through the support of a local trucking company, Cashmere Carriers and Allarick Roberson who have volunteered to transport the water to Flint we collect water through February 8, 2016.
